- Still a very solid phone!!
I bought this phone to replace my Galaxy S9 after finding out about the 3G Shutdown that was going to affect my carrier soon. I am not the kind of person to buy new phones in stores because I'm currently unemployed with less than $30,000 in my bank account so I needed a good phone for a cheap price.
I ended up settling for the S20 FE 5G because of a lot of features that I liked.
The build quality is pretty subpar and it's not absloutley astounding but it's not that great either. The phone has a plastic back, glass front and an aluminum frame. The plastic back does NOT take well to isopropyl alcohol and I learnt that the hard way unfortunately, but luckily a high quality replacement is dirt cheap.
I was very impressed by the performance on this device, especially after it being fully updated to the last operating system my model (SM-G781V) supported being a April 2024 security update and Android 13. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 5G processor is more than enough for everyday tasks and my daily use, and doesn't heat up too much under heavy loads.
The cameras on this phone blew me away for the price point that it is available at.
On the front there is a 32MP sensor and on the back there is a 12MP Wide Camera, 8MP Ultrawide and 12MP Telephoto. In my daily usage, these sensors are great for everyday photos but do slightly lack in sharpness.
The speakers in this phone are a noticeable downgrade from my S9, but they are good enough for me. With Dual Stereo speakers and Dolby Atmos they do get pretty loud without distortion with songs that distort easily.Pros- Great cameras

- Loud, clear speakers
- Astounding display
Cons- Slow, Optical Fingerprint Sensor
- Battery is poor
- Plastic back
- No longer receiveing feature updates
- Weak vibration motor

Score
- 7.5 Design & Materials
- 7.3 Performance & Hardware
- 8.0 Camera
- 7.4 Connectivity
- 6.1 Battery
In this case, to determine the score we evaluate 5 general aspects:
- Design and screen
- Hardware and performance
- Camera
- Connectivity
- Battery
Once these 5 factors have been rated, we introduce the price variable. This means that any two devices with the same ratings get a different Ki score for quality vs price.
Even a device objectively worse than another may have a higher Ki score if it has a better price.
The Ki varies as time goes by. As new devices with better specifications enter the market the Ki score of older devices will go down, always being compensated of their decrease in price.
